SDPA added a secure SSL certificate to the website, so the web address now includes an “s”: https://www.sdpilots.com

Added the “Events” calendar feature using Goggle Calendar.

Added 2019 and 2020 ACE Camp scholarship winners.

What's New

Aug. 29, 2020

We launched a new website on August 28 with the same domain name (sdpilots.com or sdpilots.org) and updated several pages. Some of the menus have changed, but everything that was on the old website should be on the new website. We will be adding a Secure SSL Certificate for the website to run as HTTPS in the near future. We still have one new feature to add to the website and that is an aviation event calendar using Google Calendar (as soon as we learn how to work with Google Calendar). Here are the updates:

Officer page: Add photo and information about our new Secretary Dale Knuth of Hartford.

Constitution & By-laws page: updated new additions to the Constitution and Bylaws passed on June 25, 2011, and May 23, 2020.

Join page: Added 12 names of new LifeTime Membership people.

Meetings page: Add several meeting dates and places and one photo from meeting on Oacoma on Feb 8, 2020.

GA Promotion page: Added information about Displays & Markers, and Letters, Alerts, Calls, Meetings, etc.

FLY SD Airports Passport page: Added “Update for August 15, 2020,” and added photo of Gold Level Award recipient: Allan “Tex” Goerger of Barney, ND (we will be adding Gold Level Award recipient Dale Knuth of Hartford, SD, on the next update of the website).

Art Contest page: Added information about the 2020 SD Aviation Art Contest and pdf of winner’s artwork.

Other SD Av Orgs page: updated information for the SD Civil Air Patrol.

Airport Awards page (formerly Best Maintained Airports page): Added information and photos of award winners for 2019.

Links page: updated numerous links and added several new entries.
